这为什么重要
It can only be fixed while you are well
This is the one document that cannot be corrected once it is needed, because by then you can no longer sign a new one.
The alternative is not nothing
Without one, who manages your affairs is decided by the public guardianship system rather than by you.
No account, no email required
Answer the questions and read the result. Nothing else happens unless you want it to.
常见问题
- Will this tell me if my lasting power of attorney is valid?
- No, and you should be wary of anything that claims it can. Validity is a legal judgement that depends on your document, your circumstances and current law. This checks the practical things you can confirm yourself, such as whether the witnesses were present together and whether anybody knows where the document is. Those are where problems most often arise, but a good result here is not a guarantee, and anything involving the law should be confirmed with a lawyer.
- Is this legal advice?
- No. It is a practical checklist. We do not describe the legal requirements as settled law, because they have conditions and exceptions and they change, and a confident wrong answer here would only be discovered when it was too late to correct.
- I do not have one. Is this still useful?
- Yes. It will tell you what one needs to cover and what to ask a lawyer for, which makes the appointment shorter and cheaper.
- Do you keep my answers?
- They produce your result. They are not sold and not shared.
